About Adult RailCamp: Steam locomotives no longer cross the United States as they did years ago, but the vintage railroading industry, along with its modern counterpart, is alive and well today. Positions dealing with the restoration and management of these locomotives as well as modern ones exist worldwide. Opportunities to learn about them, however, do not. In recognition of this need, the NRHS developed the Adult RailCamp program. The week long camp is designed for Adults to provide a real-hands-on rail history preservation background and railroad operations experience for Adults. Adult RailCampers get to work with real railroaders, on real equipment, and participate hands-on in on-going restoration projects.

The Adult RailCamp program is based upon the successful RailCamp Program which the NRHS offers for high-schoolers for the last ten years. We now offer Adult RailCamp annually with our partner, Nevada Northern Railway.
