The Central Florida Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society was chartered on November 8, 1970 with fourteen founding members. Chapter membership has grown over the years to more than sixty members. The Chapter celebrated its 40th anniversary in November 2010. The Central Florida Chapter is committed to the collection, restoration, preservation and exhibition of railroad memorabilia and railroad history for the education and enjoyment of future generations, with a special focus on Central Florida. The Chapter’s extensive collection is housed and displayed at the Central Florida Railroad Museum in Winter Garden, Fl. The Central Florida Chapter is a non-profit tax exempt 501 (c)(3) educational Florida Corporation. The Chapter participates in regional railroad shows and sponsors field trips for Chapter members and friends. The Chapter also has monthly work sessions at the Central Florida Railroad Museum for expansion and maintenance of the museum and the Chapter’s railroad-related collections.
